Design for Human Future — Water as a vital resource

The 19th edition deepened the Design for Human Future framework by centering water: a vital, threatened, and politically urgent resource. With over 140 activities, BDW turned the global water crisis into a field for creative reflection and proposal. Key exhibitions at the Museu del Disseny — including The Ocean Speaks and Inspired in Barcelona: Terra Rossa — anchored the program, while the Jornada Nº18 convened voices from design, science, and policy around water preservation. The edition also saw the debut of Underground BDW, a new format in unconventional spaces that brought an experimental edge to the festival, and the launch of Next Gen Design, a European initiative aligned with the Green Deal focused on the next generation of designers.
