Creative Resilience

For its 20th anniversary, BDW embraced creative resilience as its guiding concept — not as a utopia, but as an informed, pragmatic response to a world shaped by technological, economic, geopolitical, and environmental disruption. Design as the capacity to adapt and find solutions where others see only uncertainty. The edition brought together over 130 activities, 14 Associated Venues, and 3 new Associated Events. Underground BDW returned under the concept Lessons from the Moon with 30 selected projects; the opening featured a conversation between Andrés Reisinger and Isern Serra; and Next Gen Design toured five European cities — Belgrade, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Vienna, and Skopje — reinforcing BDW’s role as a node in a continent-wide creative network.
